Cowboy Country
Cowboy Country is a 5000 sq ft western retail store located in the heart of Cowboy Country in Nanton, AB. It is a family-owned and operated business founded in 1993 by Shawna and Manerd Bird. The entire staff and family are involved in Ranching and Rodeo. Manerd Bird is a rope horse trainer and a timed event stock contractor, along with son Logan Bird. Logan is a 5 time CFR Qualifier and the 2017 Canadian Tie-Down Roping Champion. Shawna was born and raised on a ranch west of Nanton. Shawna and their daughter, Lakota Bird, manage the retail location. Lakota is also a Barrel Racer and Breakaway Roper. She was CPRA Breakaway Season Leader in 2021 and continues to compete in both events at the professional level.
